UK International, known to many as Underwater Kinetics, has introduced a new line of 12 extra large injection molded cases under the brand name LoadoutCase™. The design is based on a new proprietary polypropylene resin blend, UKtekmat 2.0™, which brings up to a 20 percent reduction in weight from the previous line and a significant increase in impact resistance over its competitors. As one of the original injection molded case makers, UK plans to extend its distribution into larger OEM, military and consumer markets with these incredibly rugged water and dust resistant cases. The LoadoutCases are part of a larger investment program to re-engineer and redesign UK’s entire line of case. 

 

The LoadoutCase redesign started with customer requests for an overall weight reduction in the cases.  After working with resin makers and meticulously evaluating materials, UK created UKtekmat 2.0, a blend of polypropylene resin which is up to 20 percent lighter in weight than the ABS based resin used in UK’s TransitCases.  To guarantee an unmatched level of durability in the new cases, UK surveyed the material strength sold by the competition. The UKtekmat 2.0 resin was formulated to have a higher Izod impact strength than any of the case samples tested.

Other noteworthy features include all stainless-steel twist-lock latches, hinge pins, and spring-loaded steel handles. A hollow core silicone rubber O-ring is used for the main seal against humidity, water and dust as well as corrosive gasses such as ozone and carbon monoxide.  Pressure equalization from barametric and temperature change is controlled by a screw down valve which does not allow mixing of potentially corrosive external gases while the case is sealed.   Loops are provided for padlocks or security seals.  Optional wheels and extendable handle are available. In addition, customers can also configure LoadoutCases with optimal pluck foam filling. LoadoutCases are available in black and can be ordered in custom colors. A minimum order is required for any custom colored case.
